’t Gaat allemaal om de buurt
Het Bellamy Buurtmuseum is opgericht in 2003 om de buurt een nieuwe impuls te geven. Een aantal buurtbewoners, zoals Leo Reniers en Bert Meister, gaven zaken in bruikleen of als gift. Ze variëren van lokaal opgegraven objecten en andere historische zaken uit de buurt tot boeken en foto’s waarachter vaak een verhaal schuilt.
Er zijn kunstexposities die elke zes weken wijzigen. In de buurtkamer kunnen buurtgenoten elkaar ontmoeten. Ook is hier het lokale tv-station “Het Gewilde Westen”. De buurt gebruikt deze ruimte voor allerlei activiteiten.
It’s all about the community
The ‘Bellamy Community Museum’ was founded in 2003 to give the area a new impulse. A number of locals, like Leo Reniers and Bert Meister, supplied materials on loan or as a gift. They vary from locally excavated objects and other historical items from the neighbourhood, to books and photos that often come with a story.
There are art exhibitions that change every six weeks. In the Community Room, locals can meet each other. Also it houses the neighbourhood TV station “The Wanted West”. This space is used by the community for all kinds of activities.
