Heerlijkheid rond Mercatorplein
De bewonersorganisatie Historisch Archief De Baarsjes zet zich in voor het behoud van documentatie en (historisch) foto- en ander beeldmateriaal over het voormalige Amsterdamse stadsdeel De Baarsjes. Dit gebeurt door middel van opslag van materialen als boeken, foto’s, elpees, etc., het digitaliseren ervan en het onderhouden van websites om ze online te tonen.
Verder is er een bescheiden gelegenheid voor een permanente tentoonstelling van een en ander. En er zijn regelmatig wandelingen door de buurt alsmede de zogenaamde HAB-dagen. Ook worden delen van de collectie regelmatig uitgeleend aan organisatoren van andere exposities.
Delight around Mercatorplein
The Historical Archives of De Baarsjes in the western part of Amsterdam is an organisation of locals, working on the conservation of documentation and (historical) pictures of the city area called De Baarsjes. This is done by gathering interesting materials like books, photos, LP records etc., digitising them and maintaining the services to show them online.
In addtion, there is a modest opportunity for a permanent exhibition of the materials. And there are regular neighbourhood walks as well as the so-called HAB days. Parts of the collection are also lent out to those organising other exhibitions.
