Museum zonder Muren ontwikkelt museale concepten, bij voorkeur in de openbare ruimte. In steden is veel mogelijk om actuele en cultureelhistorische thema’s uit te lichten en onder de aandacht te brengen van een breed publiek.
Geschiedenis, architectuur, bewoners en hun verhalen vormen de ingrediënten voor afwisselende presentaties en projecten. Museum zonder Muren werkt samen met gemeenten, bewoners, ondernemers en buurtorganisaties om de programmering te ontwikkelen.
Permanente exposities in Amsterdam zijn ‘Buurtgeschiedenis Transvaal’, de audio-app ‘Literair Transvaal’ en het kunstwerk van Nelson Mandela aan het Krugerplein.
Participating in public space
Museum zonder Muren (Museum without Walls) develops museum concepts for, preferably, public spaces. The urban surroundings offer countless opportunities to focus on current and cultural historic themes and bring them to the attention of a wide audience.
History, architecture, locals and their stories form the ingredients for different exhibitions and projects. Museum zonder Muren works together with city governments, the locals, entrepreneurs and neighbourhood organisations to develop the programming.
